I finally met the man who years ago made Holmes County stink, literally stink in the worse way. It always happened whenever there was a change of weather and which direction the wind was blowing. He owned and still does what was considered the Stink Plant, where dead animals are processed into fertilizer and spread back on the land again. Today I was told the operation is now "The Protein Plant". Times have changed and he got better equipment to do the process and the smell is not what it used to be. Thanks to modern technology.
He is also a brother to the owner of Der Dutchman's Restaurant.
