Before I had left for the north in June the squirrels would come running whenever I turned in at the park. They knew me by the roasted and salted peanuts in my bike basket. I kept wondering if the squirrels will remember me when I return to Pinecraft? This one was laying flat, stretched out on the fence and just stayed in that position while I biked up to it and tossed out a few peanuts. It took its good old time in deciding if he can trust me before taking the peanut. He was on his second peanut when Lucas came around for a visit and so he scrambled up the tree. But that is okay, for the squirrel will be waiting for me tomorrow evening.
