At places the Phillippi Creek resembles a swamp. It is a place where the Red Winged Blackbirds feel very much at home. There are a number of those birds in this specific area. The fish don't jump anymore as the creek is too shallow for the fish we used to have. Maybe in a few more years we can cross the creek on dry land.
I'll never forget seeing that Jeep drive right into the creek towing a boat on a trailer. Yes, he got stuck, but worked himself out of it!! Was great Saturday morning entertainment!!
