For the last month or so I have been feeding the squirrels at the park. Tonight they came running when I turned into the park and even the crows came cawing looking for free handouts. They didn't go for the peanuts, although I saw one pick up a piece of a cracker. But the squirrels are gaining weight. Last night I fed them raw shelled peanuts and they didn't go for those for the simple reason they associate me with roasted, salted peanuts in their shells.
